Nadja D’Almeida

Background:

For as long as Nadja can remember her family of Tibesti have travelled most of Theah. She has seen and experienced much in her life the average Thean hasn't and while she can understand most languages, she isn’t multilingual. Her parents weren’t her biological mother and father and the rest of her family extended to that of her entire travelling tribe consisting of cousins, aunts and uncles. Her Uncle Olaf, her father’s brother, favored her and became close to her. She would confided in him a lot when things didn’t quite go her way as a child.

When Nadja was 5, her parents set an arranged marriage for her to Damon Richler, the son of one of her parent's closest friends. The pair stayed friends throughout their childhood and when Nadja turned 14, it was expected of her to settle and prepare for her marriage to Damon when she turned 18. Unfortunately this would never happen. Nadja, being very attractive had developed a flirty way about her and many young men of her tribe favored her immensely. It became a problem as her marriage to Damon got closer. Deep down she wanted no part of it, but didn’t want to fight tradition. She wanted to have as much fun as she could before settling down.

Among her many male "friends", Beauregard Maugham (Bo) was one of them. Their relationship was quite platonic as Bo was a childhood friend. The pair were practically inseparable and many believed that there was more to the friendship despite their denial. One particular night, Damon found Nadja and Bo swimming in a nearby river. Since Damon had always despised Bo for other reasons than his friendship with Nadja, he picked a fight with Bo and the pair had it out. Nadja came to Bo's defense when Damon threatened to kill him, but in a way that she wouldn't expect. To this day she does not remember what exactly happened but the next thing they both knew, Damon was dead, lying among a pile of large rocks that seemed to come out of nowhere.

While both the circumstances of the death could have easily put off to an accident, both Nadja and Bo were the only ones that knew what had really happened and that Nadja had somehow killed Damon. Most in the tribe believed they were telling the truth, but those close to the Richler’s didn’t and since that night Nadja had never felt the same. The feeling of being an outsider grew. It was for this reason she took up on her own and one night left the tribe for good.

Personality:

Nadja is very friendly having come from some of the more flourishing tribes of the Tibesti. Because of this, she is used to talking with strangers and makes new friends easily because of the lack of a language barrier. She can quickly win people over and can also attract just as much trouble when she isn't expecting it. She is naturally flirtatious though will take any romantic relationship seriously. She is a very romantic and passionate person who finds her way into the hearts of men very easily. Unfortunately for many them, it is sometimes not so easy to find their way out.

Her mysterious nature and beauty make thieving easy for her. As a Tibesti, she’d been taught to perform for her daily needs such as food and shelter, but as she got used to pick pocketing and stealing just about everything she can get away with, she has adapted the ways of a pirate.

Physical Description:

Nadja has a fair complexion and has long dark curly hair that she wears down mostly since it's so thick. She has a well-toned slender figure and is of average height. Contrary to the conservative look traditional of the Fidelhi, Nadja doesn't mind exposing a little more flesh than they do. Especially if it helps her get what she wants and needs at the time. She wears a white, loose, baggy sleeved shirt that has a low neck with some lacings to close in the neck. Her black leather vest laces up the front and acts more like a bustier. She loose hip hugging skirts are black and sweep the ground. The Tibesti tradition considers ankle exposure a little vulgar, but away from her tribe, she has let this tradition slide a little. She wears lace-up sandals on her feet mostly, though she does have a pair of boots she wears when needed. She had several hidden pouches and thigh knives at her disposal.
